Mike V, or Vallely

Mike Vallely or Mike V.  As my friend Shawn pointed out, Why does he call himself Mike V and not Vallely.  We all grew up calling him Vallely and since he is considered an oldschool guy why not embrace it.  He will always be Vallely to me and not this Mike V character.
